I am an active independent dance artist committed to crafting expression and communication through movement. I have developed my artistic voice as an interpreter, performer, choreographer, and teacher with a primary focus on solo work which I present locally and nationally. In recent years, I have worked on broadening my artistic lens to focus more on collaborative efforts with artists in other disciplines such as sound, video, and visual arts, and it is my desire to continue this investigation as I move forward.

Rooted in contemporary dance, my artistic practice revolves around questions and curiosities around the human condition and how it may be expressed through the language of the body. I am interested in human behaviour and psychology, and I wish for the performer’s inner life to be invested in the work. I source movement vocabulary from deep, instinctual physicality in dialogue with chosen themes, literature, music, and images. Inside an idiosyncratic aesthetic, I strive to reveal human complexities, expand perception, cross boundaries, and ignite emotion and imagination for both the artists and audiences involved.

I am the recipient of several government funding awards, including the 2010 Lieutenant Governor of Alberta Emerging Artist Award, and I have been presented nationally at Dancing on the Edge, Guelph Contemporary Dance Festival, Romp! Festival, Expanse Festival, Fluid Festival, Canada Dance Festival and the National Arts Centre.
